Alyse C. Jones is a graduate of Spelman College of Atlanta, GA, where she obtained a Bachelors of Arts in History and Secondary Education. At the age of four, she began her dance training with Creative Expressions Dance Studio under the direction of Sheila Miller-Graham, Alfred “Bruce” Bradley, and Charlene Hank. She continued with Creative Expressions Dance Studio until the age of seventeen, and was an original member of Bradley’s Flintstone Hoofers, one of the premiere professional tap dance groups in the country. With the Hoofers, her performances included the Broadway Town Hall Theater of New York City, NY, the Apollo Theater of New York City, NY, Joe Tremaine Dance Competitions in Las Vegas, NV, Orlando, FL, and Dearborn, MI, and several tap festivals held in Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, St. Louis, MO, and Dayton, OH. Upon college graduation, she began her journey with the company of Just Tap, four young women that, in just six short years, were nominated for the Dance Metro DC award in the category of “Emerging Group Performers”, and have been credited with having a “roots and rhythmic style”. She is currently a tap dance instructor servicing youth ages 6-13 in beginning and intermediate tap levels in the metropolitan Washington D.C. area. Alyse strongly believes that dance is a precious gift, and means of self-expression. Through her love and passion for the art, she has become the woman she is today.
