Jasmine Chesley began dancing at the age of two. Immediately it became my passion. She began training at Geddings Dance Academy and from there attended Dance and Body Works, Expressions Dance Theater, Joyce Lavern, and Dance Dimensions. Throughout her time as a dancer, she has danced on several companies and performed at multiple competitions, assisted with classes, taught classes, and choreographed several original pieces. During her time at Dance Dimensions, where she spent my entire high school career as a dancer and even a few summers dancing as an alumni, she was a senior company member, captain of the senior company, awarded Most Valuable Dancer, awarded the 3D award, and spent time assisting with classes.
After graduating high school, she took her passion to Salisbury University where she became a member of the Salisbury University Dance Company for four years. While dancing with the company, she had the pleasure of taking a master class taught by Misty Copeland. She was also awarded Most Outstanding Dancer during her junior year. She graduated with honors as a member of Phi Epsilon Kappa Honors Society for health and science majors with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with an allied health track. Currently she is teaching dance and continuing her education with the goal of being accepted into physical therapy school and becoming a physical therapist in order to work with athletes, dancers, and anyone who is in need.
